Summary: Play fair, have fun. Materia has no accounts or leaderboards — your progress lives on your device. Purchases, if available, are processed by the App Store. Nothing in these Terms removes your mandatory consumer rights.
By downloading, installing, or playing Materia ("the Game"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the Game.
Materia is a mobile puzzle game developed by Stanisław Pawluczuk, operating as a sole proprietorship under Polish law. The Game is a block-placement puzzle: fit pieces onto a grid and clear full rows or columns, in a choice of tactile visual materials (Glass, Jelly, and Pop).
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to download and use Materia for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment. This license does not transfer any ownership rights to you, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved. This license terminates automatically if you materially breach these Terms, or when you delete the app.
Materia does not offer or require account creation. There is no username, login, or server-side profile. Your best score and tutorial progress are stored locally on your device, and may sync via Apple iCloud if enabled. Because there is no account, there is nothing to "delete" on our servers — see our Delete Your Data page for how to clear this data from your device and iCloud.
Materia may offer optional in-app purchases, which can include a one-time purchase (for example, to remove ads) and/or an auto-renewing subscription, where made available in your version of the Game.
For EU/EEA and UK Consumers: By purchasing digital content or a subscription, you expressly consent to immediate delivery/performance and acknowledge that you thereby waive your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery or performance has begun, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
You agree NOT to:
All content in Materia — including but not limited to graphics, music, code, and game mechanics — is owned by Stanisław Pawluczuk or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
Materia may feature third-party advertisements, including optional rewarded videos you may choose to watch. We are not responsible for third-party ad content. We do not guarantee the availability of ads or the delivery of rewards if an ad fails to load or is closed prematurely. Using automated tools, macros, or ad blockers to manipulate ad views is strictly prohibited.
The Game may also link to third-party websites or services (for example, Apple's purchase and refund pages). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, or privacy practices of any third-party site or service.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Game, or your infringement of a third party's rights. This section does not require you to indemnify us for anything that cannot lawfully be imposed on consumers under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
We may restrict your access to online-dependent features (such as ads or purchases) if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent behavior, or abuse our systems. Because Materia stores progress locally on your device rather than in an account we control, we cannot remotely terminate access to the core game itself.
THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee:
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Game at any time. We will endeavor to give reasonable notice for material changes. Nothing in this section overrides your mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, we are not liable for:
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or intentional misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including the EU legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under Directive 2019/770).
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Poland, unless you're entitled to your local courts under consumer protection laws.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Game, and supersede any prior agreements on this subject.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce that or any other provision later.
We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
Where these Terms are provided in a language other than English, the English version prevails in the event of any conflict, except where prohibited by applicable law.
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice via an in-app notification. For users in the EU/EEA/UK, material changes require your active acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Game.
